What do you do with a throw ?

I've bought some throws for our sitting room. They're more to keep us warm in the evenings as sick of kids dragging duvets down.

I'm rubbish with soft furnishings. What are you supposed to do with them in the day?

I've seen some people stretch them over the back but I feel like a student. If I drape them over the arm they look scruffy.

Is there an accepted etiquette?

I don't know - I'm not really one to advise on not looking scruffy - but I generally fold ours up and either put them at the end of the sofa or pile them (there's only two!) on the small upright chair next to the sofa. That usually lasts a millisecond before the kids drag them onto the floor again.

I agree with you that stretched over the back = studenty. I think I'd prefer them in a neatly folded pile at the end of the sofa.

Folded up in a pile on the pouffe/stool thingy that matches the sofa

Folded small and left to one side of the sofa. If I had space is probably get an ottoman or blanket box type thing, even a footstool with storage to keep them in.

I've got a couple in a deep, round log basket and one folded and draped over the arm of a sofa.

You could just have a pile of them folded next to a chair.

Face a constant battle to stop the dogs claiming them as their own. The dogs have dog blankets £2 throws from ikea for them to slobber on. I have naice snuggly throws for me. No fucking way am I letting the hairy fuckers on my throws.

This usually means shoving them down the back of the sofa and hiding them. Not much use if you wish to have them displayed somehow.

Keep them in a wicker basket when not using them other wise I found they were all over the room

poocatcherchampion · 04/05/2015 17:31

We chuck them over the back of the sofa. Otherwise I'd buy a basket of some description or a pouffe with storage.

If you are putting them on the sofa then fold them all tidy first

Mine is folded up and its on the sofa puff..

In a lidded wicker basket that doubles up as a side table at one end of the sofa.
