I need some help in the bedroom please!

Sorry to follow that thread title with some slightly dull window stuff, but I really need some inspiration!

My front bedroom has one bay window made up of 3 sashes, plus a standalone sash window. Each sash is tall & thin, roughly 80cm wide by about 2m deep. Currently we have one set of sill-length curtains on the bay windows, and a roman blind on the standalone, all nicked from downstairs in our old house and all of which are translucent. I am currently waking up with the sun, so need to Do Something, but I have questions:
would you treat the 2 windows the same or do something differently on each?
what length would you go for the curtains - sill or floor? fyi there are no actual window sills
would you have 2 things going on e.g. translucent blind plus opaque curtains or something like that? I think I'm going to have to (one to stop the neighbours seeing in, one to let me sleep), but how would you arrange it?

Style-wise, the whole room is up for grabs except for a cream carpet, so not tied to a particular style, but my taste would generally lean more to a modern look. Help!

I would put shutters in. Curtains just take up so much space and make rooms look small. Roman blinds if you can't fit shutters, but they're not great for light exclusion.

Thanks sweetandfullofgrace. There is a bay on the other front bedroom so I guess I would have to get shutters for that as well, so it looked symmetrical from the outside
