We used Dulux Overtly Olive in our bedroom at our previous house, and now we have it in one of our reception rooms but maybe it's too dark?

Hmmm. It looks a bit browny in that pic, but if you Google image it, you'll see several examples of it in situ. (It's not my house in that pic, by the way).

B&Q can colour match any colour. Also they have loads and loads of colour chip cards to choose from

Dulux Celtic Forest is one of those ones you have made up that goes through about six different shades from dark to light. Celtic Forest 5 might suit?

hairymuffet · 04/04/2015 00:03

Thanks, but the room is small, so it needs to be quite pale. Although I do like the colour.

I used this colour for my lounge - I think it's called Topiary tint or \Bonsai tint

We've got dulux sage green in our room and it's lovely but not sure it's the type of green you mean?

MargotLovedTom · 04/04/2015 00:08

Sorry hairy was your response to wading? Just because the Celtic Forest 5 or 6 is pretty pale.

MargotLovedTom · 04/04/2015 00:09

Sorry X post!

I'm about to use Habitat Olive. It's a lot lighter and warmer than most olives - kind of olive-meets-mustard. Probably not the pale olive you're asking for, but it's lovely and wouldn't be as overwhelming as a deep olive.

Zinxie · 04/04/2015 20:36

Is habitat paint good, Devora? They have striking colours, I've often considered using, but don't know the paint at all.

Devora · 04/04/2015 21:11

I'll know in 48 hours, Zinxie! Will let you know then.

The colours DO look lovely, and the tester pot on my wall went on rich and creamy, so I'm travelling hopefully.

Zinxie · 04/04/2015 23:01

Well good luck with it ! Sounds quite luscious, hope you enjoy your painting.

We have just used Dulux Crushed Aloe in a kitchen and apparently that is a lovely pale olive/bamboo (I haven't seen it yet).

It was the one from the Endurance range and the colour looked a little different from the regular matt paint so maybe check which one you prefer.

Reporting back on Habitat paint! It's lovely - I'm so happy with it. Went on really easily, good coverage, and looks great. In daylight it was a pale olive - almost bayleaf/sage colour - but now by lamplight it's looking much richer and warmer. I like it both ways, it's by far the nicest olive I tried.

Having said which, all colours look dark in my living room - and much paler in my kitchen - so it may well be pale enough in your room. Definitely worth a look.

Zinxie · 06/04/2015 09:37

Smile sounds fab, devora. Hope it wears well. Nice having newly painted walls!
