To hide or not to hide...

Trying to work out if I put the TV in a cabinet so that it can be hidden from view when not being watched, or do I leave it out? Do you prefer TV's on display or hidden?

I think it depends how big your TV is. Mine are always fairly small - I just don't get the huge TV craze - and it is on display all the time. I also have a dislike of wall-mounted TVs, but most people seem to disagree I suppose I just don't like the TV being the most dominant feature in the room, and they're not beautiful are they?

We have our TV on the wall, but it's not central - the fire is the focal point. Also - stand by for genius idea - the wall behind the TV is painted a soft black. Camouflages the TV during the day, and makes it look like a cinema when the TV is on. It looks really really good and the TV is not the first thing you notice when you walk into the room.
