Need bedroom inspiration for complete overhaul

We've decided to finally get our bedroom done after living with the dated built in wardrobes and dingy green carpets since we moved in.
It's going to require a complete gutting... ripping fitted wardrobes out, new window sills, skirting and coving, new carpet, curtains, furniture and decoration. The only thing we weren't going to replace is the bed, ours is double and ideally we'd like to upgrade to a king size but we were going to wait to do that.

Where should I look for inspiration? We've decided on most of the furniture but it's the colour scheme, carpets and curtains I'm stuck on.
I was thinking of light grey walls with one purple wall to coordinate with our current bedding but then I saw some grey and yellow colour schemes that I fell in love with.

Whatever we do we want to last a while, we wont be decorating again for a long time.

Any suggestions on colours? Recommendations for grey paints (mid price range not F&B)? Carpets? Help! Smile

Most of my rooms are done in Dulux Polished Pebble, which is a light silver grey. It works with many colours (line green in ds room, black and red in my room and plum in living and dining rooms),would work with yellow too.

Crown also have a lovely light grey called Aspen Silver.Crown is 3 for £32 at the moment in B&Q aswell so you could grab paint for the ceiling and maybe a feature wall too

Keep the carpet light too, either white/ivory or possibly light silver grey. Depends on the rest of the room though,ds has an awesome grey black and white stripe carpet that looks fab

I love mulberry silk by dulux

Our room is painted in it and very restful

I love a statement mirror, white linen and different textures but similar colour cushions. I watched too much of sixty minute makeover whilst on ml

I have toile curtains a bit like the design of the throw on this bed.

That's not my bedroom but similar in ways.

Thank you for the ideas, I do like that bedroom.
I've had a look at the Dulux Polished Pebble online and it looks like what i'd want for the three lighter walls so I may pick up a tester of that. Now trying to decide what to have on the fourth wall behind the bed. Purple? Or darker grey so it'll work with either colour scheme?
I've picked up the B&Q Colours Light Rain, Grey Slate (I think) and Iris testers and the Crown Cloud Burst and City Break, and thousands of grey Valspar cards Grin

I had wanted a darker carpet but I am useless with carpet colours. DH suffers from a condition that means he has on occasion vomited during the night with out warning, lovely I know Envy, it's been controlled for the last four years or so but I'm reluctant to get a lighter carpet just in case, although I could compromise with a rug?

You could go with a darker carpet depending on everything else.

Plummy colours look lovely with grey,if you don't want to go true purple. I had plum and pewter paper on a feature wall but just changed it to painted with Crown Armagnac
