We are looking around at sofas, as our big sofa is worn out. The online only companies seem to offer good value. Has anyone ordered online and how was the experience? TIA.

We bought the current sofa from Furniture Village, and the cover has not worn well. Thought that we ought to look a bit harder at the online options. Hoping that we get some posts on the thread soon!

Sofasofa do some lovely furniture and I think the quality is actually better than most of the big stores. They will send out fabric samples. They get great reviews on trustpilot.
I covet this one the next time I can convince DH that we're due an update because the cat has trashed my current ones

Another vote here for sofasofa. Couldn't fault my lovely sofa and their service A1. It's the only place I'd go now.

I bought a sofa from loveyourhomeforless.com, it's very comfortable, arrived early and looks lovely, prices were reasonable but not the cheapest I don't think. Before we bought it we also went to visit sofa.com's shop and the quality/choice of their sofas was great too. They do a really good online service and will send lots of samples, would have been very happy to order from them if they'd had exactly what I'd wanted. I know a few people who have bought from made.com and been really happy too.

Thanks all for the advice and the links. I hadn't heard of loveryourhome... or made.com. It's the trade-off between price and not sitting on the sofa before you buy it that has given me pause for thought. Thanks everyone.

I'd try out a few in actual shops. When you find one that's comfortable, note the details of the proportions and use those to compare to the online suppliers.

We bought ours from worldstores. We are happy with it, and it was reasonably priced. Last sofa was from harveys, which was slightly more expensive but still reasonable

We had one that looked v like catz' link above, the model was Albany but this was many years ago. It was comfy, and the fabric wore well but the cushions got floppy and annoying and we replaced after about 5 years. We could also feel the wood through the armrests, not uncomfortable but not exactly luxurious!

Delivery was superb, they quoted a relatively short turnaround time and then 2 lovely welshmen delivered couple of weeks earlier than that. Nice to support british manufacturing without paying a premium too. I'd buy from them again but make sure the back cushions were attached..

Mine is from loveyourhomeforless.com. I'm very pleased with it.

I recently purchased a footstool from www.decur.co.uk and have been looking at their sofas, if you make a fabric request they send out all the fabrics and colours you want, it's worth a look x
