Painting Picture Frames

We have a number of paintings that are in gold, wooden frames. I would like to change them to a silvery colour - pewter to be exact. It doesn't have to be a solid colour and I don't mind if the finish is a bit crackly, Can anyone recommend a product out?

Plastikote do a range of paints for that sort of project. They do spray paints and special effect paints.

Look in B&Q and Hobbycraft or art/craft shops.
