Sofa/chair bed for nursery

Hiya,

I've seen a few options and was looking for a bit of advice. We'll probably only use it for nights when the baby is crying a lot so that the husband can sleep on it or if my sister is coming over to watch the baby overnight.

I prefer the look of the okra one but all I would say is make it as comfortable as possible ds basically would only sleep if cosleeping so dp was in the spare room for 6 months. Our old sofa bed ended up hurting his back!

Go an look at the ikea one before buying - we considered it and it is very uncomfortable - part of the 'matress' that you sleep on is wood. We have this one

Which we bought without a cover and just use a duvet as a cover. It's a 3/4 bed but they also do a chair - very comfortable and cosy as a sofa too.

The John Lewis one is cute. But if you'd like the same for much cheaper and in a range of plain colours, look up 'z bed' on Amazon or eBay? That's what we're buying for our toddler's room so we can hopefully sleep on it in his room as needed rather than have him squished into our double bed as happens now!

Or 'chair bed'. You''ll find doubles as well as singles.

Just to echo some of the pp don't buy one of the really cheap or one of the ones like that one in the first link as they are just blocks of foam and really uncomfortable both to sit and sleep on.

The chair and sofa beds which have a metal frame off the ground that the mattress goes on top off are much better. We have a single IKEA Lycksele which was an eBay bargain in our small spare room.

An advantage over traditional z beds is that they have a function when not in use as a bed rather than just taking up space.
