Hall light or lampshade - inspiration needed

I have the dullest hallway light. We're halfway through sanding, patching and painting (it was khaki in places) but I'm struggling with the bare bulb look.

Any suggestions ?

I've just bought a Daisy West Cluster Chandelier. Love it!

Like nice ! Alas chandeliers would be bashed by the front door.

Maybe I should just go for the prison look with a metal lamp shade.... I think though I'm going to stay with the light bulb for another year !
