Does anyone have a light like this?

Are they bright? I'm just wondering if all the light just goes down and doesn't fill the room as its a solid shade.

Any thoughts?

We have a couple of brushed aluminium shades in the kitchen and yes, the light does 'pool' rather than diffusing around the room. Not a problem if you have other lighting around the room though (and that's a v. nice design you've posted so might be worth it anyway!).

Indeed, add tall lamp, problem sorted!

It's not really a light for lighting up a room, more for over a dining table which needs lighting for a specific task....you'd need others around the room...
