Adding colour to a white kitchen

We have a completely white kitchen/diner with wood laminate flooring and chrome oven. I'm looking for ideas on adding colour. Possibly a coloured splashback and or feature wall. Any ideas welcome to help me. Thanks

Why not just have coloured accessories on counter tops - bright ceramic or glass bowls/jars/vase, bowl of fresh fruit, vase with flowers (if you have a big kitchen), etc? That way, you can easily switch them out when trends change, and it will make your kitchen less trendy so it won't date as quickly.

I'd do a feature wall in a colourful wallpaper, then pick one/two colours from that and use it for accessories including your glass splashback.

I have a glass splash back and it is lovely. If you go along that route try to minimise the number of sockets in the glass - move them if possible - it messes with the effect!

I've got lovely deep blue tiles on the walls covering about 1 foot height above all the work surfaces, in an otherwise white kitchen.

It's a matter of taste though. Some people walk into my house and rave about the kitchen and others are very tellingly silent when they see the kitchen.

Each to their own! My kitchen doesn't look swish and glossy like a brand new fitted kitchen would, but I love my blue tiles!

I chose to do this because I couldn't afford to change the kitchen cupboards which are cream/white and looked a bit tired against the bright white ceiling etc. Adding the blue really set the cupboards off nicely.

I have a monochrome kitchen and I have livened it up with splashes of colour by using framed prints, an orange kettle, patterned storage canisters, colourful cushions on the wooden bench and a couple of shelves of mismatched colourful vintage jugs etc. I love it.

My kitchen is completely white . My small appliances (toaster, kettle, steamer etc) plus things like cannisters are all chrome. The only colour in there is bright orange jug and flowers on the windowsill. I think it looks amazing. My sister thinks it looks like an operating theatre

we are doing lots of splashes of colour. turquoise curtains. red and yellow boxes in the wall cupboards, pink table cloth, purple splashback if I have my way, and maybe green lightshades.

it is a very big room though and otherwise white and cream. it looks lush!

Yeah I'm torn between completely white with one statement piece or adding jewel colours like magenta, teal etc in the form of splash back, vase, blinds and things

We have a monochrome kitchen aswell and have added colour by having a bright yellow kettle and toaster. It's a massive kitchen so we also added wallpaper to the wall with the most counter/cupboards. It's multi-coloured thin stripes and it's bright and gorgeous and everyone comments on our kitchen.

My kitchen is being built, but I'm planning on painting three of the walls a dark teal colour, as the rest will be pale cabinets and work surface.

sounds nice! i would just accessorise with bright cannisters and trays, joseph joseph and habitat stuff is a bit different and colourful.

Ooh they sound fab, yes ours is brand new I can't wait until it's finished, living in a building site is a pain but worth it. I'll have a look in those shops maybe get some inspiration

We have gloss white cupboards and dark Karndean "wood" flooring and oak worksurfaces. We have a chrome range cooker with stainless steel splashback and chrome fridge-freezer and chrome kettle, toaster, etc. I went with white brick shaped tiles and Jasmine white paint. Our table and chairs are dark wood (like the floor) and we now have a teal snuggler at the end of the kitchen. We also have some artwork up at the seating end. I don't think it looks too white or bland, but that might just be me

Tilly yours doesn't seem as plain though really, I have White worktops and a glass table.

I think what I'm going to do is choose some lovely wall parer for far wall in dining area and match the colours in that to other bits like lamp shades and splash back

We've got a white gloss kitchen and pale wood floor with oak worktops; our colour is red and this is in the blind, canisters, light shade and bar stools. But we also have a very brightly coloured striped glass splash back, which looks fab and gets lots of positive comments :)
