Paint colours for north facing bedroom

I'd like to paint the walls grey and the fitted wardrobes in a lighter grey/off white. I'm driving myself mad looking at swatches and having never had a north facing bedroom before I'm not sure what will work. The room is duel aspect but the windows on the opposite wall are the original stained glass (arts and craft house), quite small and don't let much light in. Anybody got any advice on paint colours? Will grey even work?? Thanks.

We have a north facing bedroom. Painted it a mix of cream and plum with grass green accessories. On paper mix is lovely, but green hasn't worked, so have gradually phased it out and added more and more plum. F&B say to miss green and grey I think.

Farrow and Ball suggest yellow based for North Facing or to go dark. Personally I wouldn't go dark, i'm looking at a cream colour for my room.
