flat white throughout. want to add colour - with purple sofa

That's it. We have a 2 bedroom flat. Pure white throughout. I am sick of plain white and want coliur. But having had plain white for over a decade am a bit scared. But want a strong coliur. No magnolia!

I want to paint at least 1 wall in the living room. This has got an oak floor and ceiling and will have a very deep purple sofa in it. Any colour su?gestions? I'd potentially paint 1 wall in a dramatic colour and possible 1 more wall either same dramatic or complimentary not so strong shade but probably keep 2 walls white as can't be arsed to paint whole room.

Then the 2 bedroims. Again, all white. Would like to add one wall of strong colour. One room will have big wooden bed and has laminate floor. The other room will have bunk beds in and has got a white cork floor.

I'd be absolutely massively grateful for cool ideas.

My DS has a purple sofa and pale terracotta colour paint on the walls. Looks great. One wall has a darker shade, the wall with the chimney breast. Purple and orange are complementary colours so go for something orangey as he did.

I think that sounds nice. I'd like a dusty/greyish lilac with a purple sofa, and then just blink-and-you-miss-them orange flashes in the room. A detail on a cushion. The frame of a picture.
