We bought our current home for price (it was the best we could afford at the time) and convenience. We thought we'd probably keep it about five years. However the idea of staying here permanently is growing on me. It's 4 beds, all doubles, so there's plenty of space , detached and the location is the very edge of a small rural town, so it's quiet.
The problem is it's a boring 70s build. Ideally I'd like to live in a cottage but without downsizing it would cost another £100k, or a period house, but stock is limited here. If we stayed put we could afford more fun in our lives.
So, how can we turn our boring 70s house into a fab home? I have no idea where to start.
