How to 'dress' hallway stairs and landing

I've just painted (thanks to another thread) it Ivory above dado and plum/slate grey underneath. Flooring is mid oak colour. It looks lovely but seems cold and not finished if you know what I mean. Any ideas TIA

Chandelier or nice welcoming light fitting, mirrors, runner for stairs, pictures, console table...

Thanks Black yes nice light fitting and mirror. It's shame can't add fabric etc to dress it. Stairs have biscuit brown carpet can't afford to change it at the mo. Grin

Could you get a rug for the wooden floor part if you want to soften it a bit ?

You could curtain the front door if you really want fabric or you could have a hall bench with a cushion upholstered in your choice of fabric.
Console table.
Lamp for soft light.
A hall runner.

Thanks for the ideas. It's very small hallway but I like the ideas of a door curtain and rug and see if I can find a small table with small lamp Grin
