Dining room chairs left out to get weathered - worth salvaging?

Ive been given some pine dining room chairs that had been left outside and now they're rough and grey. Is it worth trying to sand and paint them? I've got some chalk paint and wax. Or would they be better as firewood

If their joints are still intact with no cracking or coming apart, they are worth saving.

Rub a bit of sandpaper over that grey and they will come up lovely.

I'll check that - most of them seem quite sturdy, but I'll have a closer look. Thanks!
