Living room decorating help needed

I have recently moved into a new home, and I'm decorating my living room, the wall paper I've got is this...

I also have a mauve rug and pale grey sofas. My problem however is finding curtains, do you think check ones like these would go?

I suppose they will, that is what I feel by looking at the separate pics. I am not an expert though.
