Painting a pine roll top desk

DD would love a desk and am I have seen some lovely roll tops on eBay. I was toying with the idea of painting it in Annie Sloane paint - how easy would it be? Also, the roll top would be painted too - would this spoil it's appearance?

I've recently painted a wooden desk (not roll top so I can't comment on that bit, sorry) - I used Autentico paint instead of Annie Sloan as there is a stockist near by and it was dead easy!

The instructions for both paints say that no prep is required, however I did sand the desk down first and then wiped it clean with sugar soap. I did one coat of primer and then 2 costs of chalk paint, finished off by waxing.

I'm not the best at DIY and am really pleased with the results - go for it Smile !
