Tiebacks for windowsill length curtains - yes or no?

Dark purple plain curtains in bedroom, I'd like to 'glam' them up a bit but not sure if tiebacks would look odd as they are short.

Any thoughts?

Actually they hang just below the sill to the top of the radiator.

We have them in 2 similar situations and think they look fine. It looks fine in a bedroom but may look a little odd in a living room?

Both sets are plain shape no tassels and are the same fabric as the curtains.
