Our spare room is all stripped and ready to paper but I am having wobbles about my chosen paper as it is possibly too many £££s for an underused room!

The room is about 9ft x 10ft so not big but not a box room either. I want it to feel clean and fresh and neutral but with a bit of character. It'll have a cream carpet and a white wood framed small double (4ft) bed.

The paper I'd chosen was this harlequin paper but as it comes to £200 or so, I starting looking around. I'm now toying with the Laura Ashley paper (in my next post).

Q: will the Laura. Ashley paper look ok on a whole room do you think?
Q: any other alternate papers you've spotted?

Thanks!

I think the laura ashley one is much nicer - although with cream floor and furniture would you consider a paper with some subtle colour? Maybe something like this

Laura ashley wallpaper can really be stunning and classy my partners parts have it throughout their house... I wouldn't do feature walls as it think it looks tacky...?

I'm using abbivale pink in a guest bedroom they have it and it really looks chic Smile

Definitely no feature wall, it is all or nothing.

It is just that when it is whole room, I am conscious of the print/impact.

Having said that, I have the below in our bedroom & love it! But there is no wall with whole expanses of wall (fitted wardrobes plus windows on 2 walls) so it is just blotches of colour.

What's abbivale pink? Just googled and comes up with nothing.

Interesting you like the LA more than the expensive one all. Good to know. Am pondering how neutral I want now.

I don't think harlequin one is that special. I think you could get similar in b&q or homebase. They have a large selection of neutral plain ish floral/ modern floral designs.

I can't really tell what LA one looks like from that sample. I can see its a more intricate pattern but it's not loud. Think it would work very well for a whole room print.

Next have some nice wallpapers. I do love LA looks generally.
