Door knobs!

I've got horrid ceramic doorknobs with pic of birds on them but I can't afford to replace them. Has anyone got any ideas what I can do with them pls. TIA

Hmm - not at all clear what you would consider affordable. I have found eBay invaluable for matching rim locks and wooden door knobs, but you have to be prepared to replace piecemeal as and when suitable things come up (I have been matching original locks and knobs).

You could paint over the birds with ceramic paint from an art shop or Hobbycraft or use Fablon in a colour or design you like and cut out circles big enough to cover the bird design and just stick them on.

Both would only be temporary and could look a pig if not well-executed though.

Thanks wow. I don't mind things not matching but would hate to attempt a cover up and then botch it. I will put a search on eBay tho never thought of that. Thanks
