BIG modern not v expensive dining tables and chairs?

We have a big modern kitchen dining area with grey floors and white corian work tops and mushroom coloured cabinets. I really want to get a dining table to seat 8-10/ extending to 12. I don't like rustic. Does anyone have any ideas or point me where I should be looking? I could afford up to £1500. I think oak might be a bit dull and not fit with the rest of the kitchen but the beautiful ones are too small and/or too expensive. I am rubbish at decor! Please help.

Gosh I love that 1500 is "Not v expensive" :)
I recently bought an extendable pine one but I'm guessing our tastes differ!

Look at Made.com. I love their oak and ash tables, great prices too. Their Jacob chairs in ash and white look good too although I have just paired a white oak table with white Starck masters chairs, looks great and chairs are very comfy.
