I'm looking for wallpaper for one wall in a 13 foot square kitchen diner. It's to go floor to ceiling (high ceiling), there's no picture or dado rail, on the wall beside the dining table.

The kitchen units are in a large u shape with the cooker in the middle directly facing this wall and are beech shaker style. The worktop is black gloss granite effect, with white matt metro tiled splashbacks. The floor is a grey, textured granite effect ceramic tile.

It can be quite a dark room and I like a lot of the abstract/retro style patterns that are around like this, but I don't think the colours will work with the units.

Any suggestions? I have a lemonade budget, but champagne tastes Smile.

I like this from B and M bargains.

I do quite like that - just not sure about it for the room. I'm sick of florals and don't really want a pearlescent finish or dark colours. That really limits things!

I can't link on my phone at the mo, but Google graham and Brown Darcy wallpaper in silver and white. I have it in my hall, it's lovely and the colours might work in your room.

Is this too floral ? The green might look quite fresh with the beech and black. I am a fan of this colour in the kitchen but not everyone is !

If you look at the little picture of it on the wall it shows it with a beech table and white and black things on top and I think the colours look really good together.

Anyway - I'll be quiet now !

Ihatemytoes - I do like that, but it has a very definite stripe/geometry to it and the house is Victorian with imperfect walls which will be magnified by that kind of pattern.

The Doges - I love that and didn't see it in B&Q last night; natural without being floral and I like the colour. Plus, it's washable - always a good idea in a kitchen.

What would you suggest we do with the other walls in the room - around 2 doorways/end of runs of cabinets and above the wall cupboards?

Not sure how much wall space you are talking about - but if not much and you think the room can stand it - I would take a piece of the wallpaper to one of those paint matching machines / places - get the green matched and paint them in that.
