Tell me the best thing for kitchen windows

Just had our kitchen extended and I want to put up blinds or a voile or something to shield us slightly from the field outside that has lots of dog walkers but not totally as I like to be nosy :-). What would be best and easy to keep clean do u think?

I like plantation shutters - but they are expensive. More homely than blinds and easier to peer out of than voile (but not easy to peer into).

I have these but in silver. They are fantastic.
