Dressing this daft window/door

I am at a loss as to the best way to curtain/blind this configuration

I have French doors out in to the garden. Each side of the door has a small window. With window ledge being at door handle height. Only the window on the right actually opens the other is for show Confused

I have curtains up now going the full way across but I hate them. Also the tv is in the way (no other place to put it) and the curtain doesn't quite fit behind so is in the way when open

Do you have this? How would you dress it? HELP!

Can you upload a pic?

Seriouslyffs · 09/09/2014 18:49

Why does it need dressing? For privacy, heat retention or light blocking?
A picture would help, as Minkah says.

It's a south facing door so the sun is shining through all day! This is it from the outside door

Roller blinds on the smaller windows?

LadyMud · 09/09/2014 19:51

Window film, perhaps?

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 09/09/2014 20:01

an awning on the outside?

Same as my kitchen except I have worktops under the windows.

Mine are south facing too and I need something to stop me baking while I'm cooking! I'm considering perfect fit blinds as I don't want curtains in the kitchen.

We have something similar to Perfect Fit blinds. They work well without getting in the way of anything.

Can you attach small Roman shades to the doors and two more on the windows?

A glimpse of hardware

Similar to what you have I would avoid floral and other patterns and opt for plain/neutral shades.

Mounting a shade

Lace panels are a bit easier to install and can block a good deal of light.

Those roman shades look good!

I lived in a house with a door exactly like that in the dining room. We just had huuuuge curtains, with a print we loved.

I'd be tempted to get some customised roller blinds made in a fabric I love. I think marimekko fabric blinds could look fab.
