which blackboard paint?

Lots of different options but I'm hoping to do a whole wall (medium sized) so I do need one that has good coverage and goes on smooth.

I guess I'll definitely need 2 coats?

we used International's standard blackboard paint (not the magnetic one) for our kitchen door. Good coverage but you'll definitely need two coats whatever you use. We did three coats just to be sure, and will be doing a small wall in the boys' playroom this weekend, again we'll go for three coats.
