TV stand..I need a reeeeaally compact one! Anyone seen nice neat one?

I'm optimising space in my living room and currently have an overly clunky glass TV stand that just out and takes up too much space and collects swathes of dust.

I remember I bought it as a temporary measure....years ago.

TV tables seem so big..why?! I have a 32 inch TV. Getting eyeball fag from looking at TV stand dimensions, so thought I'd ask MN, surely I can't be the only one needing a compact discreet TV table with room for DVD player and sky box?!

No, you're definitely not on your own. I hate this! Why do all tv stands seem to be geared to people who want their TV to be the biggest and most obvious thing in the room? We ended up wall mounting ours, with the DVD player and freeview box tucked away on a shelf in the corner. It's a bit irritating having to point the freeview remote in a slightly different direction than the TV remote, but a sacrifice worth making.

It's also worth thinking about other furniture that might do. Like a little coffee table/occasional table with a shelf, or even a bedside table like this: www.barkerandstonehouse.co.uk/furniture/bedroom/Bedsides/Ercol-Bosco-Bedside-Cabinet/2-2901-70100/ if your DVD player would fit on the shelf. Ok, so your tv might overhang the sides, but I don't know how much you'd mind about that.

Oh sand thorn. A bedside cabinet. It's a great idea, but need two shelves, one for DVD, one for skybox.

Otherwise, it's great. Overhang, wouldn't bother me at all.
