What's a good quality carpet brand?

It's our first house & I've never had to buy carpet.

I like velvet piles more than twists. It's not a room that will get a lot of traffic.

I've got a Brinton carpet on my stairs and landing and I love it. It takes a lot of feet up and down and looks great 4 years later.

This house came fully carpeted but in a year it's all trodden down on the stairs.

4 years sounds more like it!

Westex have a good range of velvets- but quite expensive. I have just had my hall fitted with their velvet in Maple, and about to have my living room done in the same, it's beautiful.
