Wall paper stripping

Have stripped a wall of wallpaper using a steam stripper and there's a number of streaky damp patches - how long should i wait before decorating to let the plaster dry out?

Thanks.

Are you putting emulsion paint on? If so, the plaster can still dry off at the same time as the paint does, so I don't think a first coat would come to any harm if you got on and did it.

But for anything waterproof you'd need to be sure the wall was good and dry before you start.

Yes, emulsion and won't be doing it for a couple of days anyway. Sounds like that's ok, thank you so much.

I'd expect the patches from the steamer will be long gone by then anyway!
