painting picture frames, spray paint or wood paint???

just wondering really, iv painted mirror frames with normal satin wood paint but would spray paint work? be quicker? oh and whilst im asking has anybody tried that crackle finish spray paint and had success? tia

Used both in the past for picture & mirror frames. The key is in the preparation - sand smooth - then take your pick. Spray quicker to apply and best done outdoors on a calm day & helps if the frame is contained in a large box. Plastikote crackle sprays work well, if you find a finish that you like, and you have a reasonable choice of colours. HTH

Spray paint is satisfyingly FAST!

And no brush marks.

Just put down tons of newspaper, do it in the garden. Make sure it isn't windy!

Have fun. It's easy, once you get the hang of it, to spray a piece with two colours, with some spattering effect.. Can be nice with silver and gold, black and white, etc
