Carpet that doesn't show wee/vomit/mud/tea/red wine

Moving house and need to choose carpet for living room and play room. Chose a mid brown for current place which was massive mistake as despite being dark it shows every bloody fleck. Any suggestions for colours or patterns or types that can deal with the rigour of mischievous toddlers and clumsy adults?

That would be laminate you're after.

We had a sort of oatmeal coloured, flecky carpet in the last house, which was pretty forgiving - actually the new house has not dissimilar, and it's only now we've had a chance to look closely we've realised it's in fairly poor condition, so again it's done the trick! We had a fair amount of mud tracked in, occasional food spills, plus a bulimic cat. Red wine though ... laminate might be the answer after all.

Agree with oatmeal coloured flecky. Has survived all the above and more - ribena, tomato, felt tip, ...

Grin good retort, boxofshells!

Yes sort of oatmeal fleck would work, we have a Berber loopy job which hides the dirt well.

Cork is a superb choice, warm, easy to clean, forgiving of dirt, environmentally friendly. But if it's carpet then a flecky one is your best bet.
