Dye colour ideas - bench cushion

We bought a hardwood garden bench over the weekend - just a cheap one, but it seems sturdy enough. Rather than shell out 20 (or more!) on a ready made cushion for the seat I thought I'd make one. I have some old textured cream curtains which are cotton or cotton mix and I fancy dyeing them before I cut them up. The fabric is quite thick so I think should work well. I'll probably only dye one curtain as they are pretty big and I can use the rest of the fabric for scatter cushions or even make a floor cushion.

Any suggestions as to what colour to go for? I'm thinking of using Dylon machine dye rather than cold water dye and I'd also consider mixing two colours to get an interesting shade. I could even dye both curtains different colours and do some mixing and matching.

I like deep blues for a garden.

You've got me thinking now - cobalt blue would be good.

YY... Cobalt blue would be just the thing!

After a long and lousy day at work I went for Bahama Blue. Reminded me of summer hols of yore. If it's to much I can always tone it done with Ocean or some Navy. What the hell!
