What colour is your hall, stairs and landing?

My dad has retired and has offered to come and paint Grin

The hall, stairs and landing are currently a rather grubby 'ex-rental' beige. Nothing offensive or wrong, just a bit boring and in need of a bit of tlc.

The hall is quite light, south facing window and front door has a fair bit of glass in it.
The stairs get quite dark as they are as far as possible from any windows and turn round on themselves iyswim.
The upstairs landing is light - but only if the bedroom/ bathroom doors are open as it doesn't have any of its own windows.

What shade of paint do you think?
All I know so far is I'm going to get one that is 'tough' or 'childproof' or similar as the dcs are still small and mucky! Hmm

Ive tried everything to stop mucky hand prints of my stair walls - nothing works!!!

We have a Dulux Natural Hessin, looks gorgeous and very airy and light, we just repaint every couple of years

pearl grey walls, white bannisters, stairs painted in black and white with coloured glass lampshades in bright pinks, turquoises and purples. Grin

Mine are resplendent in brown and bluey-green with big Polyfilla patches...Soon they will be creamish (Dulux Orchid White I think ) as it's quite dark. if I put anything more interesting it would be too dark to see it anyway.

hyperhops - that sounds pretty amazing, and I envy the natty blue above too.

Yellow! Not bright yellow, but sunny and warm. Somewhere between a daffodil and a primrose.

We inherited it, and it's high time we repainted it, but I think we'll be aiming for something virtually identical.

I like yellow. :-)

I also like something like a very light cream - maybe dulux timeless?

Would I be mad to want different colours on different walls?

A very pale taupe on the walls, a carpet in a similar but lighter shade and white for the other paintwork. I like yellow though - as others have suggested - but it has to be the right shade of yellow...
