Help me find a new front door!

We're looking for a solid wood door for our edwardian terrace. Preferably no windows as our bathroom is downstairs and I don't want the neighbours / postman catching sight of my bum as I go up the stairs!! We currently have an unsightly upvc one that is making me sad.

DH says no to a reclaimed door due to fitting (Confused) so I'm on the look out for something new.

Any ideas how much we should expect to spend? Where to look? Carpenters or local company or web?

There is an old thread here where, basically, they seem to recommend getting one made by a local joiner. In 2012 the prices seemed to range from £1-3k.

Thanks Justine. Might be worth giving the guys who made our kitchen a ring.

We live in an older house (Victorian) and wanted to replace the original shabby door. We got a quote from a jobber for £1k to replicate it. In the end we just restored the door though.

Sadly, the old door is gone :( so it's either a new one (composite or solid wood).

We're going to get a quote from our kitchen guy later in the year.
