DD age 11 and DD age 2 share a room. Its being redecorated and am stuck for a colour scheme.

Eldest DD has asked for fuschia pink, lime green, teal or orange. She wants it bright! I can't think of how to make any of those colours work though, especially as it isn't a huge room.

I contemplated fuschia with a turquoise blue colour but what colour carpet would go? All furniture in the room is white wood so will go with any colour scheme really.

Please suggest bright and funky colours that go well together without being too in your face.

Maybe two walls in orange, two in fuschia. Pale grey carpet (to accommodate any future changes) with accents in turquoise.

Teen DD2 has this wallpaper on one very short (narrow?) wall in her room. The rest of the room is painted candy pink. She has white wood furniture, lilac curtains and a cornflower blue carpet that you can't see because it is a floordrobe She has plain lilac and plain white duvet covers. She loves it.

Love that wallpaper but we are definately sticking to paint only, especially with younger DD entering the toddler stage it's much easier to touch up. For the same reason I need to stick with a darker coloured carpet that will hide stains better.

Should have said the room is lilac and pink now, wanting it quite different as DS had just had a room makeover and DD is now rather jealous.

It's so hard when they are at the not quite child, not quite teen stage.

I would paint in a neutral colour and accessorise with the colours she wants. Rugs, shelves, cushions, lamp shades, picture frames, bedding in v bright colours. I even painted the inside of my DD's wardrobe shocking pink.
