Flooring for large kitchen/livingroom

I am thinking of wood or engineered wood or laminate wood ( good quality)for large kitchen cum livingroom.
I would also consider crema marfil- but would it be too cold in winter. I can't afford to put underfloor heating in.
Your ideas please.

We have engineered wood in ours, it's lovely.

What brand?
How does it differ from ordinary wooden flooring?
Can you use a steam mop on engineered wood?

We have solid bamboo in ours.

It was from here.

It's a layer of wood on top of other wood. It's worth looking at how thick the top layer is. Where we got ours from it's thinner but pretty cheap. They're not stocking the actual one, but it was a rusticy cheap one.

We have used a steam mop on it sporadically.

Oh and we went for engineered as it was thinner overall, we didn't want a step down into our carpeted sitting room. It's easier to install than solid wood but you may want to look at solid too.

Thank you Rogan and Mandy
