Choosing carpet colours

I don't really like carpets much, but I realise they are practical for bedrooms. We're about to paint a bedroom in Dulux Dusted Moss 3 with white woodwork/ceiling. Any nice suggestions for carpets or nice alternatives to carpet? What sort of colour would you go for? Needs to be reasonably priced.

Ooh, just had a quick look around - now considering Sisal. Any hints and tips or recommendations? What is the approximate cost for supply and fit per sqm?

We've chosen a light grey carpet for upstairs. I like neutral and didn't want beige.

Sisal is very rough under foot and doesn't do well if it gets wet. We have a sisal look in a wool carpet and its lovely.
