Good areas for furniture browsing in London?

DH and I want to go for a stroll this Saturday in London... we want to look at some nice furniture shops to get some ideas for bedroom & living room furniture.

Does anyone have any suggestions of areas we could go to? We've done the basics (John Lewis / Habitat etc) so would be nice to see some independent shops!

There's a big Heal's on Tottenham court Rd with some smaller furniture shops along the way. Big Conran shop on Marylebone High St and also Skandium and a few others down there too (unless money is no object this will probably be good for ideas rather than buying Wink).

For fantasy shopping for house stuff, it's worth a trip out to Chaplins. Huge place, gorgeous stuff, though £££.

Oh and the other place not so central but only NW3 and with some lovely shops is Finchley Rd, there's a big Roche Bobois, BoConcept, Natuzzi...

Watching with interest

I second Tottenham Court Road - there are various sofa places, Raft, Feather & Black, Lombok and a few others.

I tend to think of Fulham as being good for housey shops - but they're spread over various bits of fulham eg the west end of kings road, wandsworth bridge road, parsons green.

Wow that Chaplins place looks amazing. Exactly the kind of style I would go for!! A bit it's so expensive!!!

Thanks for the tips. Might try Tottenham Court Road as it's more central, then maybe pop to finchley road!
