Friends back home in NZ have been raving about a new range of paint that is the undercoat, topcoat and protective coat all in one paint but as far as I can tell that brand isn't available here in the UK yet, does anyone know of any paint similar to this? I have a decent solid wood (only pine mind you) sideboard that is really useful but I have always hated the stain on it... would be thrilled to put my extremely limited --non-existent-- DIY skills to use in such a simple fashion, the idea of three coats of regular paint scares me off!!!!

This is the brand in NZ --I'm not making it up I swear--

I'm sure Annie Sloan Chalk Paint is similar as it apparently will go on any surface without primer/ undercoat.

Rustoleum now do a chalky furniture paint and a finishing wax which is similar to Annie Sloan, but cheaper. B&Q have it.

Annie Sloan is the best known but there are several others. Autentico gets good reviews.
