It's blue. Well looks blue to me.

Just had room painted in it.

Just for info of you are trying to find a good grey. I don't mind but really, I wanted grey not blue!

I am posting in Home Dec section. There is always a thread on colours, often grey. This is a grey from Crown. I am sharing my disappointment with other decorators.....

I know it is shallow and unimportant but I like to share my decorating knowledge and if you spend time on the decorating board you would know just how much time and effort is invested I getting the right grey!

No. Too expensive. On a budget! Plus decorator gets a good discount from Crown.

Really people want to paint rooms grey? Deliberately? Does it not look really depressing? I've always avoided blues because they "make a room look cold", although it's possible that this is one of those random parental beliefs which get passed on for no good reason and you then can never quite shake. But, grey?

No grey looks nice if you get the right one. Not too cold.

Colour is called Seldom Seen.

I love the names they have.....Farrow and Ball have the most oddly imaginative. Stuff like dead dog brown.....well not quite but similar!

I have twice painted my living room, one with perfectly taupe = lilac
Then chic shadow = too dark
Lightened it with white = lilac
Argh!

My kitchen is painted with a bnqs own brand...something rain which is a lovely grey colour but not good enough quality for a kitchen

Catsaofa, nearly every room in my house is grey, it's a fabulous colour, perfect neutral without being boring magnolia. I use yellows and turquoises to pop against it.

Our hall is a lovely soft grey - one from the B&Q colors range I think so cheap as chips. Offset the F&B in the lounge...

Can check the name if you'd like? Light Rain I think (or something equally cheerful).

P.s the bnq colour is not called 'something rain' I can't remember the name exactly but has rain in it lol

Fcuk, snap, I think that's what we've got in the hall.

I always like to advocate Little Greene's French Grey in these situations.

I got confused too as I thought this thread was going to be about seldom seen paint colours, like I dunno, puce or mustard yellow.

There was a brilliant thread ages ago thinking up fake F&B colour names.

I've got it in my hallway too, love it! Just wish it was more durable for the kitchen when I'm scrubbing dried dog food off the walls

This is chic shadow mixed 50:50 with white

Yes, it can take hallway traffic but suspect kitchen another story entirely!! Lovely effect in your room.

The B&Q paint mixing facility can colour match any colour and is made using valspar paint (superior to dulux but same price). Also, it's got the same components in it used to make kitchen/bathroom paints.

According to the property developers we get at work, grey is the new magnolia. Very popular right now

Joules I sent dh to b&q to ask for the same colour to be mixed up in dulux and he said they wouldn't do it! Can't remember the reason why he said now...hope he wasn't fibbing

Fram the rug is from b&q, I was looking for one for ages too and was shocked to find one in there! I've seen lots now though (typically). Quite a few on achica and joss&main but on different days.

The lamp is next, it's from before I redecorated though so will be going when I find something to replace it.

What colour did you paint over originally. I got tester pot of grey from b&q it looks ok if I painting over white walls but over magnolia it looks crap even after couple of coats

No not the dulux mixing machine, the new machine. Valspar paint. Much better than dulux or B&Q own brand imo
