Dark brown sofas. Flooring??

We have dark drown sofas and want to replace the carpet with hard flooring. What colour would you go for?

I would go for a shade just a little lighter than the sofas and I would get a rug that has some areas of cream along with jewel tones.

We have brown Chesterfields and very dark coffee coloured oak floorboards. They're distressed with no varnish / shine.

I agree you should then get a nice lighter area rug.

We have dark brown leather sofas and oak coloured laminate, but all our other furniture is oak too.
