eggshell or satin for wood?

I'm inclined more towards eggshell as it's a more matt finish.

Is it hardwearing enough though? Would be on all internal doors, skirting and stair bannister and posts.

eggshell hold the dirt and is harder to get clean.

this might not matter on a picture-rail, but it does matter on a door and frame where it will be handled.

it also looks, to me, as if the thing has been left in undercoat.

I love eggshell.

But satinwood cleans better. Meant to add.
