what colour bathroom flooring?

We've just redecorated our bathroom. The walls are tiled to halfway up with big white tiles and there are small rectangular black mosaic tiles on the bath panel and sink splashback. Rest of walls are painted almond white.

I want new lino type flooring - tiles are just too cold for me. What colour should I go for? Am thinking light so bathroom looks bigger - it's small! But I like dark, slate colour too and that doesn't show dirt as much - DH is v hairy!!!

Suggestions? Ta!

We did black and white alternating squares in marmoleum in ours which might work if you are going for a slightly more traditional look. I have a hairy husband too.

Oooh I've not come across marmoleum before genetics - looks good!

We had pale beige tiles in our flat pre-DC. Not the best with hairy husband who moults masses after a shower.

It s pretty hard wearing, so far, and because of the marbled effect it isn't show up dirt too much.

How is it different to regular lino Genetics?

A dark floor won't show hair bit it will show every drop of soapy water or toothpaste. Not great if kids are using it. Black and white is the best of both worlds.

From what I understand it is made up from mushed up natural stuff like linseed and wood pulp(that is a guess I cant quite remember) so I think it would be better for the environment( again not sure). It is harder than lino, more like the sort of plastic in those a4 folders like this but a bit more rubbery to the touch so harder wearing. But the best thing is that because it has the same pattern through the depth you can sand out stains and small areas of damage.

we recently went for balmoral grey Polyflor vinyl tiles. It's amazing how little dirt it show, it's my greatest achievement
