How much chalk paint for a small chest

And do I need to buy the wax too?

I've only used Annie Sloan and I haven't seen small tins of paint ,only 1l and 100ml tester pot. Depends how big the chest , do you mean like a toy/linen chest?

Wax will make the paint durable. Without it is easily marked by water/grease.
