Peg rail in narrow hall

We have no storage in our hallway at all and a very small cupboard under the stairs which is difficult to access, so I'm thinking of having a row of pegs with a shelf above

Near the front door. The shelf would have to be high on the wall so it doesn't get in the way. Does this sound ok or will it look a mess?

The only option for shoes is a cupboard in the front room as There is a huge radiator next to the front door so no space for anything else.

I have a shelf thing with peg rail underneath. Then a shoe rack fro JL on the floor under it. If I don't overload it all it doesn't look too messy and at least coats and shoes aren't strewn all over the hall etc.

The shoes are a problem at the moment - I wonder if I can get a radiator cabinet with a shelf underneath? Not sure if there is enough space for that
