Help me with an "accent" colour (please).

Having the family bathroom done and we have chosen white tiles for the walls and a mid grey for the floor. Rectangular (but not metro style) wall tiles and large rectangular floor tiles.

The suite is white and fairly plain. Taps etc. are chrome.

The tiles are full wall round the bath and half height the test of the room.

I'm thinking of painting the remaining wall in a nice grey and picking out an accent colour in towels/bath mat.

Would this look good or shall I paint the wall in something more striking than grey and go for white / grey towels???

With grey and white you've got all the choice in the world! What are your favourite colours generally? Or find the rug and work back from there?

I think pink looks amazing with grey, either baby pink or bright pink. Yellow sounds odd but it works too. Some people like to put red with grey but i find it quite a harsh contrast for some reason.

If you search houzz.com for ideas that could help? Eg just search grey and pink so you can see how the colours go together in other rooms.

Also, i would go with grey wall so if you change your mind in a couple of years you'd only need to buy new towels, not repaint etc.

I agree pink. Have grey walls and pink towels or pink walls and grey towels.

chartreuse yellow would look great with grey and white.

I would go with grey wall or maybe a teal or yellow if feeling brave. Otherwise accent with towels/accessories. I like colour elsewhere but for some reason prefer restful bathrooms

i know wallpaper isn' great though in a shower room so how about a teal or an electric blue

Ours sounds very similar we have plum as the accent colour which I think works well teal would also be nice but we have too much teal in our house already
