100% cotton rug- how will it be for staining?

We need a few rugs for various rooms and wondered if cotton will survive against 3 young kids! If not, what would you recommend?

Yes it would and would prob be washable dependent on size.
But something with a synthetic mix will prob be more hard wearing.
