Cost of recovering a sofa

Thinking of revamping a structurally sound sofa in fabric I source myself. Can anyone that has done this give me a rough idea of labour cost? I am hoping it will be a cost effective option you see.

Really really hard to say...I paid around £350 recently to have a good chair recovered plus the cost of my own fabric which was around £180, but to replace the chair would have been around £900.

You need to consider if you want fixed covers in which case you need an upholsterer, or loose covers in which case a soft furnishings person would do it ( often self employed making curtains and covers.)

Thank you and that is useful to read. I am hoping for a 50% saving on buying what I want new so it does seem a viable option.
