How to disguise a plug socket, on a fireplace?!

We have a plain white wood / marble effect fireplace. It did have a free standing electric fire but DS is able to pull himself up, and possibly pull the fire on top of him so we have had to take out the fire. Problem is there is now an empty plastic socket in the middle of our fireplace, and I have no idea how to cover it up! Does anyone have any (child friendly) ideas? It's just a rented house built in the 90s and the decor is cream/coffee. Thanks!

Candles of different heights?
Or fairy lights in a bowl?
