Furniture for kids bedroom

The time has come to get dd some new furniture and move her into her new room before dc2 arrives.
Dh and I can't decide if we should buy more expensive furniture that may last longer or cheap flat pack stuff from Argos.
Ikea is not an option as the nearest store is hundreds of miles away.
I'd be interested in knowing what other people have done.

Watching with interest as we are in a similar position.

Ikea do delivery on some items drama so that might be an option, I haven't checked what items they will deliver though.

I'm also looking to see what I can get second hand...

They have really high delivery charges up here. It kind of cancels out the savings.

I bought a single wardrobe and chest of drawers from M and S in their sale. Not the cheapest but not that expensive and it is solid. The delivery men bring it in and put it together for you.
